Abstract
Objective: The aim of the present study is to know about using left-handed scissors.

Method: A systematic review in MEDLINE until January 2000 to September 2010 was performed. PubMed databases were searched using key terms relating to "hand" AND "scissors".

Result: The 8 studies were included. In all of the included studies, the use of surgical scissors was the biggest part of these studies. The rate was 12.5% for the dominant hand, 12.5% for the relation between the dominant hand and personality, and 12.5% for using the dominant hand.

Conclusion: Despite plenty of lefties, it is rare to study using the left hand. There was a lack of evidence in regards to left-handedness. Future well-designed clinical trials are needed.
